I want tell you about my idol…. My idol is Ayumi Hamasaki. The first time i hear Ayumi’s song I was fall in love, the voice and the sound is great…. She called Ayu. By her fans. Ayumi was born on the second October in 1978 in Fukuoka, Japan. Her father left when she was still a toddler, and since then she hasn’t seen him. Ayumi was left in the care of her grandmother, while her mother worked for the family. Because of her mother’s job, Ayumi grew up in a different environment than most kids of her age did. Her mother couldn’t pick her up from school and she had a rather liberal discipline system. Her mother left her to distinguish what was right and what was wrong and let her walk on her own rules.
During this period of isolation her sole interest was fashion. Hamasaki started modelling ,to help to earn money for her family. During high school she started changed her hair and wearing short skirts, which gave her the reputation of being a delinquent. Before making her debut with avex, Hamasaki attempted to enter the entertainment industry in many ways. She moved to Tokyo alone at the age of fourteen and took up modelling with the talent agency SOS. She took exams to Horikishi Gakuen, an entertainment school with her friends and she ended up to be the only one to fail. Later on she retook the exams and passed. However she ended up quitting this school, after a short period, along with her modelling career.
Hamasaki’s popularity extends across Asia, music and fashion trends she has started have spread to countries such as China, Singapore, and Taiwan. She has appeared in or lent her songs to many advertisements and television commercials. Though she originally supported the exploitation of her popularity for commercial purposes, she later reconsidered and eventually opposed her status as an Avex product.
Since her 1998 debut with the single “Poker Face”, Hamasaki has sold over fifty million records in Japan, ranking her among the best-selling singers in the country. As a female singer, Hamasaki holds several domestic records for her singles, such as the most number-one hits, the highest sales, and the most million-sellers. From 1999 to 2009, Hamasaki had at least one single each year top the charts. Hamasaki is the first female singer to have eight studio albums since her debut to top the Oricon and the first artist to have an album debut at number-one for 11 consecutive years.
But In a January 8, 2008, Ayumi couldn’t heard anymore. But for her’s fans she would not give up, she wished to continue singing. She wanted to deliver the best performance for everyone…… ^.^
